Sweet Dreams come true for children and families in the Chester County area because of a strong network of volunteers and supporters. We come from all backgrounds but share a common desire to help brighten someone's day. By sharing our passion of baking we hope to make some one's day a little brighter.

Emily Parker
Chair

After graduating from the University of Delaware in 2004 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Family and Community Service and working with nonprofit community organizations, Emily decided to stay at home with her newly expanding family. When not being entertained by her three-year-old son, she enjoys spending time in the kitchen baking and decorating edible delights and playing outdoors with her family. Emily, who strongly believes every person is special and deserving of celebration, founded Sweet Dreams in 2010. Emily is honored to serve as the Board Chair and Director of Sweet Dreams and is thankful for all the support from the community, fellow Board Members and Volunteers.

Kathy Freney Smith

Kathy joined the Sweet Dreams Board in the spring of 2010. Kathy earned her Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition Management from Immaculata University and after spending more than 10 years in the hospitality industry, changed careers and began working in event planning and non-profit development in the museum world. Kathy is currently the Associate Director of Development for Corporate Relations at the Brandywine Conservancy. Baking is near and dear to her heart and she is thrilled to be able to share her talents by volunteering with Sweet Dreams.

Theresa Soja

A former restaurant biz extraordinaire has traded in her apron and clogs for a keyboard and cubicle, but never lost her interest in the art that combines food and creativity. Her love of baking started at a young age while she and her mother decorated cookies or cupcakes for school. She's taken several pastry courses and worked as the assistant pastry chef at a prominent Chester County restaurant. Theresa asserts her best dessert is a mean chocolate chip cookie. When not baking, Theresa enjoys photography, bowling, Phillies games, and dining out. She's recently moved to Limerick, PA where she looks forward to exploring peaceful Montgomery County.
